Exterior door hardware includes the hinges, casement cranks and latches (on operable side lites), handles and locks sets. Although locksets are technically a component of a finished exterior door system, they may not be included with the exterior door system and will need to be purchased separately. The quality and placement of hardware can affect the performance of the weatherstripping and poorly placed metal hardware can act as a thermal conductor resulting in heat loss.
